Adding "full game" pdf to A Fistful of Darkness soon

Translations into other languages for A Fistful of Darkness are picking up speed again. In the course of this, the idea of turning the hacking document (only the differences to Blades and you need Blades to play aFoD) into a full game document came up again.

Well, just copy SRD material and you're done, right? Yes and no.
Yes, I have copied material from the Forged in the Dark SRD, but no, it's not ‘just like that’.

This is also because I am switching from LaTex to Affinity Publisher (which has its own learning curve) but also because it emphasises the differences between Blades and aFoD. BTW more pages means more art and I actually wrote some more text about "crossroads" into the Burning Beyond. Felt like this bit was missing.

So I would like to announce that aFoD will be available as a full-game-book (at least as a PDF). The good news: If you have already bought the book here, you will get the new version for free.

The bad news: I will let some time pass and then raise the price a bit (current plan: from 10$ to 18$). Let's see when this will happen, I think around Q1/2025.

(not sure about the pod-version at lulu.com. Printing is so much more work and I'm thinking to pick up the companion first.)

I think it's a fantastic idea. I said it before.
Also, if you want to invest additional time, this could be a perfect time to polish the game even more.
Jason released Deep Cuts, that give a new cut to many rules (I didn't try the Threat roll, the different Devil's Bargain etc., but the damages a-la Fate are nice, for example). So you could integrate some (or all) the new mechanics, if you think they could better serve your setting and mood.
Finally, you could think to simplify some part (in the meantime I saw FitD inspired games that have less skills, or that twisted the stress into "charge" (Charge SRD also on itch.io) etc. etc.
Am I running too much?

Hey Andrea! Great to hear from you. I saw Deep Cuts but I want to let it open for every group if they want to use the new rules or not. Easy applicable to aFoD, too, if you want to. I want to leave the game mainly as-is ... while working on a Companion for more world building material and play-modes. Having the book done gives me time again for that and other games.
